Surah Name: Al-Qasas Meaning: The Narratives
وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَاسْتَوَى آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ Walamma balagha ashuddahu wa(i)stawa ataynahu hukman waAAilman wakathalika najzee almuhsineen(a) And when he-AS attained his full strength and became firm, We-SWT vouchsafed to him-AS wisdom and knowledge, and thus We-SWT reward the well-doers. (28:14) |
Wadakhala almadeenata AAala heeni ghaflatin min ahliha fawajada feeha rajulayni yaqtatilani hatha min sheeAAatihi wahatha min AAaduwwihi fa(i)staghathahu allathee min sheeAAatihi AAala allathee min AAaduwwihi fawakazahu moosa faqada AAalayhi qala hatha min AAamali a(l)shshaytani innahu AAaduwwun mudillun mubeen(un) And he-AS entered the city at a time of unawareness of its inhabitants, and he-AS found two men fighting therein, one being of his-AS own party, and the other of his-AS enemies. And he-AS who was of his-AS party called him-AS for help against the one who was of his-AS enemies. So Musa-AS struck him with his-AS fist, and put an end of him-AS. Musa-AS said: This is of the work of Satan, verily he is an enemy, a misleader manifest. (28:15) |
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ Qala rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee fa(i)ghfir lee faghafara lahu innahu huwa alghafooru a(l)rraheem(u) Musa said: Rabb-SWT ! Verily I have wronged my soul, so forgive. So He-SWT forgave him-AS. Verily He-SWT ! He-SWT is Forgiving, the Owner of Mercy. (28:16) |
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ Qala rabbi bima anAAamta AAalayya falan akoona thaheeran lilmujrimeen(a) Musa-AS said: Rabb-SWT ! Whereas You-SWT have favoured me, I shall never more be a supporter of the culprits. (28:17) |
Faasbaha fee almadeenati khaifan yataraqqabu faitha allathee istansarahu bi(a)lamsi yastasrikhuhu qala lahu moosa innaka laghawiyyun mubeen(un) And in the morning he-AS was fearing and looking about in the city when lo! He who had asked his-AS succour yesterday was crying out to him-AS. Musa-AS said: You are a manifest seducer. (28:18) |
Falamma an arada an yabtisha bi(a)llathee huwa AAaduwwun lahuma qala ya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qatalta nafsan bi(a)lamsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaran fee alardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheen(a) And when Musa-AS sought to seize him who was an enemy to them both, he said: O Musa-AS! Would you-AS slay me as you-AS did slay a person yesterday? You-AS seek to be a tyrant in the land, and not to be of the reconcilers. (28:19) |
Wajaa rajulun min aqsa almadeenati yasAAa qala ya moosa inna almalaa yatamiroona bika liyaqtulooka fa(o)khruj innee laka mina a(l)nnasiheen(a) And there came a man running from the farthest part of the city. He said: O Musa! The chiefs are counselling together regarding you-AS, that they might slay you-AS; so depart you-AS, verily I am to you-AS of the advisers. (28:20) |
فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ Fakharaja minha khaifan yataraqqabu qala rabbi najjinee mina alqawmi a(l)ththalimeen(a) So he-AS went forth from thence fearing, looking about. He-AS said: Rabb-SWT ! Deliver me from the ungodly people. (28:21) |
